we went to the unicorn theatre to see ‘ring a ding ding’, a participatory performance for children; arthur really loved it! and we walked around london too, and had coffee, which was very pretty.

spooky! i had such a great halloween. we went to two parties and also had a lovely family lunch at home with pumpkin soup and many decorations. i’ve not really celebrated halloween that much before, but this year it was so much fun.

well, i went to thailand and that was lovely! apart from the driving, and the people there drive crazily…

antonio and i went to the saatchi gallery! it was really great actually. i wasn’t necessarily expecting to like it as i thought it might be very ‘sensationalist’, horror for the sake of horror and all that, but it was clever, interesting and fun! we had a lovely lunch nearby too (and managed to secure antonio’s passport from the spanish embassy). all in all it was a really lovely day.

lucian freud, the painter, died yesterday at age 88. i really like some of his work.

today, arthur hugged me tightly and said ‘i never forget you mummy’. i love him so much.

happy birthday mum!

i’m living in a hotel right now as our kitchen and upstairs of the house is being re-decorated; this is more stressful and less pleasant than it sounds.

i’m still struggling on with my phd and i’m going to supervision for my counselling work today, even though I’VE GOT A COLD!

somehow this isn’t quite the summer i was planning, but then perhaps that teaches me not to plan too much!

still, i’m very in love with my family. and tinga’s doing somewhat better as a good dog!
